Patent Ochsner is a Swiss dialect band from Bern.

Band History

The band was founded in 1990 in Bern. The band's name comes from an inscription on trash cans and dumpsters of J. Ochsner AG. In 1991 she succeeded with their first album battle plate and the hits Scarlet and Bälpmoos the breakthrough and became known across Switzerland. After their third album Gmües and a tour of Madagascar, the band in late 1995 by Philippe Stalder (guitar and cello) and Martin Neuhaus ( trombone) separated.

After 1998 and 2001, Carlo Brenni Böbu honor Zeller, Andrew Burri and Tinu Frutiger had left the band released the solo album Büne Huber honeydew melon moon. In January 2003, followed by a long pause with Trybguet the first album of newly assembled band. The same tour through Switzerland was a great success. At the end of the tour to Liebi, Death & Tüüfu (05 /06) left the last founding member (except Huber), multi-instrumentalist Pascal " pazz " Steiner, after 16 years of the band.

On 29 August 2008 the album The Rimini Flash Down appeared. End of October 2008 started the tour of the entire Switzerland, which was completed on 31 August 2009 with a concert in the Mühli Hunziken.

Style

The music of Patent Ochsner is characterized by a great diversity. Even in her early albums were also heard mandolins, cellos, violins, saxophones, trumpets, accordion and a brass band in addition to the usual instruments (guitar, bass, drums, vocals). In the first three albums ( battle plate, fishermen and Gmües ) many influences of Swiss folk music can be heard.

On the fourth album Stella Nera first two songs were sung in Italian. Spanish influences are evident in music and lyrics on Trybguet. However, on the special instrumental variety of the earlier albums missing.
