Pathio District

Pathio ( Thai: ปะทิว ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district ) in the north of Chumphon province in southern Thailand.

Geography

Amphoe Pathio is by following Amphoe limited (as seen from the south clockwise from ): Amphoe Mueang Chumphon and Amphoe Tha Sae Chumphon Province and Amphoe Bang Saphan Noi from the province of Prachuap Khiri Khan. To the east is the Gulf of Thailand.

Attractions

  • Thung Wua Laen beach - elongated, shallow sandy beach, mainly composed of casuarina trees. A few, simple accommodation, popular with local tourists.
  • Small, not far from the coast, islands, such as Ko Chorakhae ( Thai: เกาะ จระเข้ ) or Ko Khai ( Thai: เกาะ ไข่ ), are interesting for snorkeling.

Education

In Amphoe Pathio is the addition of King Mongkut Campus Chumphon 's Institute of Technology Lat Krabang.

Management

Amphoe Pathio consists of seven sub-districts ( tambon), which further into 70 villages ( Muban ) are divided.

There are three small towns ( thesaban tambon) in the district:

  • Map Ammarit consists of parts of the tambon Don Yang,
  • Saphli covers parts of tambon Saphli.

In addition, there are seven " Tambon Administrative Organizations" (TAO, องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล - administrative organizations) in the district.
