Patos ( Albanian: Patosi ) is a small city in central Albania. The place that belongs to the district Fier, has 15,765 inhabitants ( 2011 census ). Patos is located about ten kilometers southeast of the city of Fier on the way to Ballsh and southern Albania in the transition region between the Myzeqe level and the mountains southern Albania.

The town experienced recovery as an industrial city - even during the Second World War was the city that ranks among the 25 largest in the country, only a small village. Patos is the center of the Albanian oil mining. The decline of the industrial sector in Albania after the end of communism in the 1990s led to many social problems in the city. The whole region is suffering also from pollution by industrial waste.

The national energy companies of Albania, Albpetrol, has its headquarters in Patos.

Patos is in the four municipalities (Albanian: lagje ) divided: Lagja 1 Maji, Lagja Naftetari, Lagja e Re and Lagja 29 Marsi. The city has a large cinema with about 600 seats, an arts center with theater and bathhouse, town library and a museum. The local football team is called KS Albpetrol Patos and currently plays in the Kategoria e Dyte.

Not far from Patos is the old Illyrian settlement Margelliç.
