Patriarch Theodore II of Alexandria

Theodoros Nikolaos Horeftakis ( born November 25, 1954) is the reigning Greek Orthodox Patriarch of Alexandria, with the official title of the Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa.

He initially worked in Crete after completing his theological studies in Salonica. In 1985 he represented the Patriarchate of Alexandria in the Russian Orthodox Church, before he was appointed Metropolitan of Cameroon and then in 2002 as Metropolitan of Zimbabwe in 1997. He's since October 24, 2004 Greek Orthodox Patriarch of Alexandria.
