Patrice Bergeron

Patrice Bergeron - Cleary (born 24 July 1985 in L' Ancienne -Lorette, Quebec ) is a Canadian professional ice hockey player who plays for the Boston Bruins of the National Hockey League since 2003.

Career

His career began in 2001 Patrice Bergeron in the Canadian Junior Football League QMJHL Acadie - Bathurst Titan at the, where he graduated four games in his first season. In his second year he played continuously for the team and brought in 70 games 73 points, which he was able to impress the scouts in the NHL, so he was 45 selected by the Boston Bruins in the second round by position in the NHL Entry Draft in 2003.

He sat right in the 2003/04 season with the Bruins through and was able to achieve 39 points. The Bruins left but from as early as the first round of the playoffs, so Bergeron with the Canadian National Team for the World Cup drove, where they won the title.

As the NHL season 2004/ 05 failed because of the lockout, he played with the Providence Bruins, the farm team of Boston in the American Hockey League. During the season, he left for a short time the team to take part in the U20 World Youth Championship. There he won the title and was able to achieve 13 points in six games and was the top scorer of the tournament and was voted MVP of the World Junior Championships. Bergeron won the 2004 world title in the senior and he became world champion in the juniors in 2005. He is the first player who first won the title in the senior and only then Junior World Champion.

The 2005/06 season was his team not particularly positive, as the playoffs were missed. At the end of the season was only 20 years old Bergeron the best scorer of his team with 73 points. He took part after the season with Team Canada at the World Cup. Although the team finished only fourth place, but Bergeron reached 14 points in nine games, the second in the scorers list behind compatriot Sidney Crosby.

At the beginning of the season 2006/ 07 Patrice Bergeron was named one of the captains of the alternative Bruins and was able to achieve 22 goals in 77 games and prepare for 48 more, but the Bruins missed the playoffs again.

The 2007/08 season was over for Bergeron already on 27 October 2007, when he was checked in the tenth season game of the Bruins from his opponent Randy Jones of the Philadelphia Flyers head first into the boards. Bergeron suffered a broken nose and a severe concussion, while Jones has been banned for two games.

For the duration of the NHL lockout in the 2012/13 season of Canadians has been committed by the Swiss club HC Lugano in October 2012.

2014 he was with the Canadian National Team Olympic champion.
