Patrice Rio

Patrice Rio ( born August 15, 1948 in Le Petit- Quevilly, Seine- Maritime ) is a retired French footballer.

Club career

The center-back started his professional career in 1969 in the first division side FC Rouen, for his father before him, the striker Roger Rio had played. In the championship Patrice Rio landed at the end of the season, although only on the 12th place, but he stood in all six games of today (2008) the only European appearance of the "Red Devils " on the lawn. With 36 years not yet ready for retirement, Patrice Rio played from 1984 to relegated straight in the Division 2 Stade Rennes. Although Stade had completed the 1984/85 season only in fourth, his immediate back in the Bundesliga after successes in the Barrages on FC Rouen FC Mulhouse and AS Saint- Étienne, and the defense Recke had associated them share. Between March 1976 and September 1978 Patrice Rio was appointed to 17 A- internationals into the Équipe Tricolore. During this time, he had to compete for the free space in the center of defense alongside Marius Trésor especially with Christian Lopez.
