Patricia Chauvet

Patricia Chauvet Blanc (May 11, 1967 in Villeneuve -Saint -Georges as Patricia Chauvet ) is a French former alpine skier. She denied almost exclusively slalom race and counted in this discipline at the best ski racers in the world.

Career

Chauvet breakthrough came in the World Cup in the 1987/88 season, when they got their first points in fifth in the slalom in Courmayeur and shortly thereafter in Piancavallo in second place in Saas-Fee as third went to the podium. She took part in the Olympic Winter Games in Calgary in 1988 and was part of the Slalom 14 In the following seasons she went constantly in their specialized discipline in the top ten.

Two months before the 1992 Winter Olympic Games in Albertville glandular fever was diagnosed in Chauvet. Nevertheless, she participated in the slalom race part before their home crowd and was surprisingly sixth. In the following season, she won her first World Cup race, the slalom at home in the Enns Valley on 24 January 1993. This season she was also third in the slalom World Cup behind Vreni Schneider and Annelise Coberger.

Your biggest success Chauvet with the silver medal in the slalom behind Pernilla Wiberg at the World Championships in 1996 in the Sierra Nevada. The following year she was fourth in her special discipline at the World Championships in 1997 in Sestriere.

After the 1997/98 season, in which they could classify in any race in the top 20 and retired at the 1998 Winter Olympics in Nagano in slalom, she stepped back from active ski racing.
