Patricia Urquiola

Patricia Urquiola (* 1961 in Oviedo, Spain) is a Spanish architect and designer.

Life

Patricia Urquiola was born in 1961 in Oviedo, Spain. First, she studied architecture at the Faculdad de Arquitectura de Madrid. Right after she studied at the Milan Polytechnic. She did her doctorate in 1989 under the leadership of the famous Achille Castiglioni. In the period between 1990 and 1992 Urquiola has worked at the School of Industrial Design in Paris as an assistant teacher for Castiglioni and Bettinelli. In 1991, she designed her first piece of furniture and directed until 1996, the product development of de Padua. 1993-1996 the designer, specialized in interior design to showrooms and restaurants.
