Patrick Castagne

Patrick Castagne ( born October 3, 1916 as Patrick Claus Stani Castagne in Guyana; † 5 May 2005 Port of Spain ) was a composer from Trinidad and Tobago.

Life

He attended St. Mary 's College and PoS from 1926 to 1935 and was a member of the "College Cadet Corps ". He has held many offices in the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, was awarded the " Chaconia medal " and became Member of the British Empire. His greatest passion was but in composing. Many well-known on the island nation of songs written by him. The highlight of his career was his victory in 1962 in the competition for the trinbegonische national anthem: "Forged From The Love of Liberty".
