Patrick Mayer (Austrian footballer)

Patrick Daniel Mayer ( born August 11, 1986 in Salzburg) is an Austrian football player. Currently he is engaged in sports club Austria Salzburg in the Regionalliga West. His brother Nicholas Mayer also currently plays for the sports club Austria Salzburg.

Life and career

Patrick Mayer began at SV Austria Salzburg with football and played in the youth in the BNZ Salzburg. In January 2002 he moved to FK Austria Vienna to visit the Frank Stronach Academy in Hollabrunn. But his stay in Vienna did not last long, since the summer of 2002 he ventured abroad dared to play for Vitesse Arnhem. After three years in the Netherlands, he came back in 2005 to Austria for SC Rheindorf Altach in the First League. A year later he made with the people of Vorarlberg promotion to the Bundesliga. After the end of his contract and relegation from the Bundesliga following the 2008/ 09 season, Mayer moved to the second division relegated SV Grödig in the Regionalliga West. The Grödigern he was able to prevail right away and wore with his 20 goals for immediate promotion back to the premier league more than just at. In the following season he had to mostly satisfied with the bank or even with the stands and joined in January 2011 as the local rivals USK Anif. In summer 2011, he moved to league rival sports club Austria Salzburg. After half a year he returned in January 2012 back to USK Anif. In summer 2012, he moved to league rivals TSV Neumarkt.
