Patrick Nielsen

Patrick Reinhard Nielsen (born 23 March 1991 Copenhagen ) is a Danish professional boxer at middleweight.

Boxing career

Patrick Nielsen grew up in the Copenhagen suburb of Albert Lund and began at the age of 10 years with the boxes. As an amateur he won the Danish cadets Championships Welterweight among other things, in 2007 and in 2008 was runner-up of the Scandinavian juniors. In 2009 he won the bronze medal at the Danish nor Elite Championships at welterweight.

At the age of 18 he became a professional and was taken by Sauerland Event under contract. He trained in Copenhagen and Berlin, Karsten Rower and former world champion Joey Gamache. His pro debut he won on September 12, 2009 Ko in the first round. In the following two years he won ten more fights in Denmark and Germany, including against boxer with positive balances as Norbert Szekeres (6-1 ), János Varga (7-2 ), Adnan Salihu (5-0 ), Erik Awlastimow (5 -0 ) and Farouk Daku (15-1 ).

On 17 December 2011, he secured the World Youth Championship IBF middleweight after he ausgepunktet the German - Russians Michael Schubow. After a knockout win in the first round against József Matolcsi ( ended in 2011 the career of Mahir Oral), he won 21 April 2012 by a knockout win against Gastón Alejandro Vega ( 17-4 ), the Intercontinental Championship title of WBA middleweight. In May 2012, he defeated even multiple Italian master Gaetano Nespro.

The WBA title he could defend against the Spaniard Jose Yebes ( 11-2 ), the Belgian Jamel Bakhi ( 24-3 ), the British Patrick Mendy ( 14-5 ) and the Argentine Crispulo Andino ( 16-5 ). On September 7, 2013, he won the Intercontinental Championship title in addition to the WBO. From the WBA already placed on their 4th place world ranking, he defeated while the poles Patrick Majewski (21-1 ) by unanimous decision.

In 2011 he participated in the TV show Vild med Dans part ( Danish version of Let 's Dance ), where he took second place with his dance partner Claudia Rex.

His younger brother Micki Reinhard Nielsen (born 26 February 1993) is also a professional boxer.
