Patrick Paauwe

Patrick Paauwe (* December 27 1975 in Dronten ) is a former Dutch football player.

Career

Association

Paauwe started his professional career in 1993 with PSV Eindhoven. In 1995 he moved to De Graafschap. A season later he moved to Fortuna Sittard. For the 1998/99 season he moved to Feyenoord, where he enjoyed great success: he was with the Rotterdamern Dutch champion and winner of the Johan Cruyff Schaal ( Dutch Super Cup) in 1999. In 2002, the team won the UEFA Cup. For the 2006/07 season Paauwe moved to FC Valenciennes. In the 2007 summer break Paauwe moved to Borussia Mönchengladbach, where he was a key player in the rise of the team in the 1st Bundesliga with 33 appearances and 3 goals. However, he lost his place in the following season. In June 2009 Paauwe was banished from the first team. On 10 July 2009 he returned to the Dutch Eredivisie and changed free transfer to VVV Venlo. Here he played a half years. On 30 January 2011 the 35 -year-old declared his career over. This was due mainly his recurring back pain; In addition, the former team captain under coach Wil Boessen in the last game had not been considered before his resignation.

National

For the Dutch national team, he played from 2000 to 2002 five games without scoring a goal.
