Patrick Redmond

Patrick Redmond (born 1966 in Essex ) is a British lawyer and writer.

Life

Childhood and youth

Patrick Redmond was born in the English county of Essex, the son of a lawyer and a teacher. His schooling was, unlike later in his debut novel " The desire game" described, very harmonious. Also athletic, he was very involved in hockey, tennis and athletics. During his school days, he had written many short stories. Although his parents encouraged him well, he later found that his earliest works from childhood need no mention today. At 15, he moved to Guernsey in the Channel Islands, where he completed his schooling from.

Study

After leaving school he spent his time for a year doing odd jobs and traveling, before finally, at the urging of his father at the University of Leicester took up the study of law, and this successfully graduated from the prestigious University of British Columbia in Vancouver / Canada. During his studies influenced him dealing with a variety of characters; likewise he also learned the importance of structures of individual events - important for the later work as an author and the literary structure of his books. His stay in Canada he found a beautiful, memorable time. Nevertheless, he got homesick and eventually moved back to London.

Professional and writer living

Immediately after completing his studies, he began his career as a lawyer in London, where he specialized in different law firms on Europe and commercial law. During these 10 years, he always found time to write. In addition to his legal practice produced two novellas which have never been published by a general rejection by the publishers. However, the third story was also his debut novel " The desire Game " and brought the literary breakthrough. The novel was in many countries, including Germany, England, USA and Italy in the bestseller lists. He has since given up his work in law firms and is dedicated exclusively to writing. He lives currently in West London.
