Patrick Reiter

Patrick Reiter ( born August 17, 1972 in Bischofshofen ) is a former Austrian judoka and won the European Championship in 1995 in Birmingham Judo. Overall, he won nine European Championship and World Championship medals.

Life

Rider started his footballing career at the Judo team Sanjindo Bischofshofen and has scored a national title and a Youth Olympic medal in the offspring. In 1990 he was at the Junior World Championships in Dijon third parties. He celebrated his first major success at the Junior World Championships in Buenos Aires, when he won the title. Four months earlier seemed his career hanging by a thread to hang, as he tore his left ankle in all bands and possibly sustain a fracture of the ankle. In the next few years he became the most successful Austrian judoka its period. In 1995 he won in Tokyo at the World Championships bronze medal. The same he succeeded in Paris at the World Championships. In the same year he also became European champion to 78 kg. In 1996, he won six Welttuniere and the pre-Olympic Games and therefore was considered Medaillenkanditat at the Olympic Games in Atlanta. A medal at the Games, as well as remained from 2000 at the Olympic Games in Sydney, however. He won at the Austrian Championships in the general class in the years 1993 to 1995 and 2000.

With his German club he won Abensberg often the team European Cup. Among other things, he stood with his judo team Sanjindo Bischofshofen (now Sanjindo Tigers ) in the European Cup final in Paris.
