Patrick Staub

Patrick Staub ( born June 5, 1967 in Gstaad ) is a retired Swiss ski racer. He specializes in the slalom and giant slalom.

Biography

Dust began his career with inserts in FIS races and in the European Cup, in 1988 he started in the World Cup. The first World Cup points he brought on 15 January 1989 as the 15th of the Hahnenkamm slalom in Kitzbuehel. Because of injuries, he had to cancel almost the entire 1989/90 season. However, he managed to establish itself in the midfield again soon.

For a podium in a World Cup race, it never quite enough dust. A total of three times he was fourth; on 13 January 1992 in Garmisch -Partenkirchen, on 22 March 1992 Crans- Montana, and on 15 December 1992 in Madonna di Campiglio. He also reached the fourth place in the slalom at the Olympic Winter Games 1992. During the season 1991/92 he was seen throughout the winter, the eight best slalom skier in the world.

Good results in the World Cup were from increasingly, so dust was re- used more and more in the European Cup. In the 1992/93 season he won the slalom standings of the European Cup, in the 1993/94 season in addition the overall standings. In December 1996 he drove for the last time in the World Cup, the end of the 1995/96 season he retired from professional racing.
