The Patterdale Terrier is even recognized neither by the FCI from KC British breed. It is recognized by the UKC since 1995.
Origin and History
The breed originated around 1800 in the north of England in a place called Patterdale, Cumberland. Alternatively, it is also referred to as fur - terrier or black terrier. He has his nature as a hunting dog preserved because he was never bred for beauty, but to working ability. Approx. In 1978, the first Patterdale Terrier imported to America, where they are now very popular. Apart from America, the breed outside the British Isles is hardly known.
Description
The Patterdale Terrier is available in black, red-brown (tan ) -chocolate, liver-colored, partly also bred with white markings. He is 25 cm to 38 cm tall and his hair is either smooth or rough. He has typical terrier ears folded standing in the upper part forward.
