Paul Achleitner

Michael Paul Achleitner ( born September 28, 1956 in Linz, Upper Austria ) is since 31 May 2012 Supervisory board chairman of Deutsche Bank.

Life

He studied at the University of St. Gallen, where he also received his doctorate, and at Harvard University. After working at the consulting firm Bain & Company, the investment bank Goldman Sachs, most recently as Managing Director of Germany office, he moved in 2000 to the Board of Allianz AG (since 2006 Allianz SE). He was responsible for the Finance and Investments. With his appointment to the Supervisory Board of Deutsche Bank on May 31, 2012, he resigned from the board of the Alliance.

Achleitner has an honorary professor teaching at the WHU ( Scientific Academy of Management) - Otto Beisheim School of Management - Vallendar, where he holds the lecture investment banking. In addition to group roles, he perceives the supervisory boards of Bayer AG, Daimler AG and RWE AG and is a member of the Shareholders' Committee of Henkel AG & Co. KGaA.

Achleitner was a member of the Government Commission on the German Corporate Governance Code.

He is married to the Professor of Economics Ann -Kristin Achleitner.
