Paul Ballantyne (ice hockey)

Paul Ballantyne (born 16 July 1982 Waterloo, Ontario ) is a Canadian professional ice hockey player. Since 2010 he plays for Manglerud Star Ishockey in the GET ligaen.

Career

Ballantyne began his career in 1998 at the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds in the Ontario Hockey League, for whom he played until 2002. In the NHL Entry Draft 2000, he was drafted in the sixth round to total 196 instead of the Detroit Red Wings. In 2002 the defender to Toledo Storm in the East Coast Hockey League, where he was the top scoring defense in 2003 of his team. During this time he completed additional games for the franchise partner Grand Rapids Griffins of the American Hockey League. The Phoenix Roadrunners committed to protecting rights for the season 2005/ 06, which he left in the direction of Victoria Salmon Kings after two years. For the season 2008/ 09 Ballantyne went to Europe to Lørenskog IK from the Norwegian GET - ligaen.

In the 2009/10 season he played for the Eispiraten Crimmitschau in the 2nd Bundesliga, before he returned to Norway in 2010 and was awarded a contract with Manglerud Star Ishockey.
