Paul Bew

Paul Anthony Elliott Bew, Baron Bew ( born January 22, 1950 in Belfast ) is a Northern Irish historian and politician. Since 1979 he works at the Queen's University of Belfast, Northern Ireland. Since 1991 he is professor of Irish politics.

Career

Bew was raised to life peer in 2007 and sits as a cross Bencher in the House of Lords. He was an advisor to David Trimble. From 1998 to 2001 he was the historical consultant studies on Bloody Sunday in Northern Ireland. He has published numerous books.

Family

Bew is married to Greta Jones, professor of history at the University of Ulster. With her ​​he had a daughter.
