Paul Burlison

Paul Burlison ( born February 4, 1929 in Brownsville, Tennessee; † 27 September 2003 in Horn Lake, Tennessee) was an American rockabilly musician and guitarist. Burlison was a member of the famous Johnny Burnette Trio.

Life

Childhood and youth

Born in Brownsville, Paul Burlison grew up in Memphis. From his brother learned Burlison playing the guitar and held in his youth, often at the Beale Street, which was known for its rhythm and blues clubs. After he had built himself an electric guitar, you started with Shelby Fallon on the transmitter KWEM in West Memphis, Arkansas to occur. Career

Burlison started short after a career as a boxer. During the Golden Gloves in 1949, he met Dorsey Burnette know who had the same musical interests. Burlison now took a job at the Crown Electric, where the young Elvis Presley worked.
