Paul Calderón

Paul Calderon ( b. 1959 ) is a Puerto Rican actor.

Life

Paul Calderón was born in Puerto Rico, moved with his family but in the 1960s to New York City. He stepped from the mid- 1980s, first on the theater and later in film and television productions. In 1986, he appeared alongside Robert De Niro in the Broadway production of Reinaldo Povods piece of Cuba & His Teddy Bear. In addition, he has appeared in numerous off - Broadway plays. He worked among others at the Touchstone Theatre and in the Labyrinth Theatre Company.

1992 Calderon was involved in the screenplay for Abel Ferrara drama Bad Lieutenant and took on a role in the film. Two years later, Calderon was at the casting for Quentin Tarantino's Pulp Fiction has been shortlisted for the role of Jules Winnfield before Samuel L. Jackson asserted itself with a furious script reading against him. Tarantino, however, was so impressed that he cast him in the role of the bartender Paul of Calderón's performance.

In 1995, Calderón an Obie Award for his performance in the play Blade to the Heat at the Public Theatre.

From the marriage with Cathy Calderon had two children. Calderón is a longtime salsa dancers and are with his wife and dance classes.
