Paul Casey

Paul Casey ( born July 21, 1977 in Cheltenham, England ) is an English professional golfer who plays on both the European Tour and the North American PGA TOUR.

Career

After a very successful amateur career Casey was 2000 professional golfer in 2001 and qualified for the European Tour. Already in his fifth tournament he achieved second place, and in his eleventh -shows, he won the traditional Gleneagles Scottish PGA Championship. Casey finished the season as the 22nd on the money list and was awarded the Sir Henry Cotton Rookie of the Year Award ( best rookie ) excellent. After a disappointing second season he won two tournaments in 2003 and was finished sixth in the rankings. The following year, Casey won not a tournament, but he was a member of the victorious European Ryder Cup team and won with his partner Luke Donald of England the WGC - World Cup in Seville. In addition, Casey took a much-publicized 6th place at the Masters in Augusta. Qualified by this success for the PGA TOUR, he began in 2005 to play there as well. The success, however, remained, and so Casey focuses more on the European Tour, where he again was the end of 2005 celebrate a tournament win, which is already counted for the 2006 season, which he followed in June 2006, another at the Johnnie Walker Championship at Gleneagles.
