Paul Consbruch

Paul Consbruch ( born 2 May 1930 in Gütersloh, Westphalia, Germany Province; † February 1, 2012 in Paderborn, North Rhine -Westphalia) was Auxiliary Bishop of Paderborn.

Life

Paul Consbruch studied from 1950 to 1955 Philosophy and Catholic Theology at the Theological Faculty of Paderborn and the Albert- Ludwigs- University of Freiburg. After he had received the sacrament of Holy Orders by Archbishop Lawrence Jaeger on 26 May 1955, he worked as an assistant in Gütersloh and Geseke. There he was appointed vicar and later moved to Brakel. Later he was appointed there to the parish administrator. 1967 was Consbruch pastor of St. John Baptist in Beverungen, 10 years later, administrator of the parish of St. Mary Magdalene in Beverungen - Drenke. From 1978 to 1981 he was dean of the pastoral region Hochstift and belonged since the Priests to.

On November 15, 1980, Pope John Paul II appointed titular bishop of Gor and Auxiliary Bishop of Paderborn. The episcopal ordination he received on 8 February 1981 the Archbishop of Paderborn, Johannes Joachim Degenhardt; Co-consecrators were the auxiliary bishops of Paderborn Paul Heinrich Nordhues and Hans Leo Drewes.

On 11 March 1999 Consbruch was entpflichtet due to illness of his duties as Auxiliary Bishop of Paderborn by Pope John Paul II. Only in the year 2005, he was adopted by Archbishop Hans -Josef Becker as part of a Pontifikalamtes from all functions. Until then, he had continued to carry out the duties of the Bishop Vicar for issues of World Mission and the sacrament of Confirmation donated in numerous municipalities in staff shortages.

Paul Consbruch initiated in 1978 the establishment of the " pastor of pastors ", a place for the care of priests in emergency situations in the Archdiocese of Paderborn. In 2008 he gave the task on to Bishop Hubert Berenbrinker and Msgr Andreas Kurte.

Consbruch died in the evening of 1 February 2012 and was buried at the cemetery in Stockkämpen.
