Paul Erdmann Isert (* 1756 in Angermuende; † January 21, 1789 ) was a German botanist and zoologist.

He was born in Angermuende / Brandenburg, but received his education in Denmark. The first scientist he discovered in what is now Ghana, the species Schildturako ( Musophaga violacea ). Likewise, he was known for his efforts to end the Danish-Norwegian slave trade.
