Paul Ford

Paul Ford ( November 2, 1901 in Baltimore, Maryland, † April 12, 1976 in Mineola, New York ) was an American actor.

Life

Paul Ford went into an apprenticeship as a carpenter, later took his master and opened his own carpenter business with his colleague John Mosch. He also worked as a sideline as a puppeteer and builder.

The longest time of his life remained Ford worked in his profession. His first film role came in 1945 as drinking cop in the thriller The House on 92nd Street. From then on it the local film studios gave roles in which he represented mainly pudgy police officers or strict military. In 1955 he played the role of Colonel Hall in Sergeant Bilko TV show of comedian Phil Silvers, which made ​​him famous overnight. The breakthrough came in 1961 with the Ford film Alfred Hitchcock presents: The Hat Box by Alfred Hitchcock. From then on, he worked in Hollywood and turned especially in the 60s and 70s many famous and partly also produced his own films.

Ford, who was married to Eva Brown, with whom he had a son, died in Mineola, Long Iceland, to a heart attack.
