Paul Freeman (actor)

Paul Freeman ( born January 18, 1943 in Barnet, Hertfordshire ) is a British actor and producer.

Life

Freeman began his career in the theater. He was a member of the Royal National Theatre and the Royal Shakespeare Company. In 1974 he founded his own theater group called the Joint Stock Theatre Company. 1978 Freeman had with the mini-series Life of Shakespeare his first notable appearance in front of the camera. His feature film debut was the Briton 1980 in The Long Good Friday with Bob Hoskins. In 1981, he was seen alongside Christopher Walken and Tom Berenger in The Dogs of War. In the same year with the role of Rene Belloq in the first part of the Indiana Jones film series Raiders of the Lost Ark, he achieved his international breakthrough. Freeman played in his films mainly evil roles. In addition, he was twice alongside Simon Pegg in a comedy in front of the camera, the 2007 thriller Hot Fuzz - Two abgewichste professionals and 2012 in the horror - comedy The terrible fear of the terrible ones.
