Paul Gardner (ice hockey)

Paul Malone Gardner ( born March 5, 1956 in Fort Erie, Ontario ) is a retired Canadian professional ice hockey player and current coach, which is since 2013 at the Tilburg Trappers in the Eredivisie under contract. His father, Cal and his brother Dave were also professional hockey players.

Career

As a player

Paul Gardner began his career as a hockey player with the Oshawa Generals, for which he was active from 1974 to 1976 in the Ontario Hockey Association. Subsequently, he was selected first in the WHA Amateur Draft in 1976 in the second round as a whole as 24 players from the Toronto Toros, and then in the NHL Amateur Draft 1976 in the first round of the eleventh players from the Kansas City Scouts. Thereafter, the Colorado Rockies, the successor team of the Kansas City Scouts, the attacker took him under contract, for which he played in the National Hockey League from 1976 to 1979. As a coach

After Gardner was from 1986 to 1990 as head coach at the Newmarket Saints of the American Hockey League contract, he then worked in their league rivals in the 1992/93 season with the Baltimore Skipjacks, and from 1993 to 1997 at its successor team, the Portland Pirates, for whom he ran aground again in the AHL in the 1996/97 season.
