Paul Graham (photographer)

Paul Graham ( born 1956 ) is a British photographer. His social documentary shots are ordered and published in theme-centered groups.

Paul Graham is in the tradition of British social realism of a Bill Brandt. As a further influences Garry Winogrand, Lee Friedlander, Diane Arbus, Stephen Shore and William Eggleston are called. Banal everyday is not spared. A1 - The Great North Road - was Graham's first publication (1981). She showed photos that were taken on the great English North South Highway. The report Beyond Caring from 1986 illustrates the dreary atmosphere of British labor offices. The Troubled Country (1987 ) series on Northern Ireland contrasts peaceful landscapes with the harsh reality of a smoldering civil war. Paul Graham's work is represented in many major collections and has been shown in Germany at the Museum Folkwang and the Deichtorhallen.
