Paul Grümmer
Paul Grümmer ( born February 26, 1879 in Gera, † 30 October 1965 train ) was a German cellist.
Grümmer studied at the Conservatory in Leipzig by Julius Klengel.
Paul Grümmer played in the orchestra of the Vienna State Opera and became known as a member of the Busch Quartet, which he served until 1930. He wrote a school for the viola da gamba, played this instrument in ensembles for early music and has worked with Wanda Landowska. As a cellist, he founded together with the violinist and pianist Michael Váša Příhoda Raucheisen 1942, the master trio.
Grümmer lectured at the Vienna Academy of Music. His students included 1944-1948 Nikolaus Harnoncourt.
