Paul Haeberlin (chef)

Paul Haeberlin (* November 24, 1923 in Illhaeusern, † May 10, 2008 ) was a French chef.

1950 opened as Paul Haeberlin along with his brother Jean -Pierre restaurant in Illhaeusern in Alsace. This was a restaurant before the Second World War as L' Arbre vert, but was destroyed during the invasion of the Wehrmacht in 1940.

1952 Paul Haeberlin received its first Michelin star, five years later, the second and since 1967, the restaurant he founded, leads L'Auberge de l'Ill three stars, which holds it up today. The restaurant is now run by his son Marc. Together with Paul Bocuse is the Haeberlin family for decades on the top places in the French gastronomic guides. The kitchen at Auberge de l'Ill is a classic French style, it is regarded as down to earth and rooted in the region.
