Paul Harather

Paul Harather ( born March 30, 1965 in Mödling near Vienna) is an Austrian film director, producer and screenwriter.

Life

Paul Harather graduated from the Urban School in San Francisco, California, and studied at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna. He began while studying in order to work full-time as a director. With India, he staged one of the most successful films in Austria. Since the late 1990s, he worked on international TV commercials.

Since 2006 he runs his own film production company " widescreen movie " and focused increasingly on television series and feature films.

He is a member of the Academy of the Austrian film and the European Film Academy.

In 2011, he with the German - Austrian television series Schlawiner ( Bayerischer Rundfunk, ORF) managed an unexpected and successful comeback as a director, writer and producer.

With AMS - Mutris world (ORF ), in the spin cycle ( Bayerischer Rundfunk ) and CopStories (ORF, originally Talpa, Netherlands ), he is involved in other television series.

Awards

  • For his film in India in 1993, he was in 1994 awarded the Max Ophüls Prize.
  • In 1996 he received the Golden Romy for Best Screenplay for "Ouch! ".
  • In 2000 he received the New York International Film Festival the Audience Award for "The Ragu Incident".
  • In 2011 he was awarded the Erich Neuberg price for Schlawiner
