Paul Humphreys

Paul David Humphreys ( born February 27, 1960 in London ) is a British keyboardist, singer and songwriter. He is known mainly as a co-founder of OMD.

Life

Humphreys played in the 1970s in several bands before he joined forces with Andy McCluskey Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark 1978. Humphreys was involved as an author at some of the most successful titles of the band, including souvenir, Locomotion, Talking Loud and Clear and ( Forever ) Live and Die. He took over the vocals occasionally, including at the hit singles and souvenir ( Forever ) Live and Die. In 1989 he left after creative differences with Malcolm Holmes and Martin Cooper the band that McCluskey successfully led alone. The three of them formed The Listening Pool, but could not until 1994 to submit their first album due to contractual difficulties. The commercial success did not come, whereupon dissolved the band.

Since 1996, Humphreys works with the German singer Claudia bridges, both have since also a couple. In 2004, she founded the synth pop project Onetwo and published in 2007 her first album Instead. In the same year, Humphreys joined back together with McCluskey and 2010 appeared the first joint OMD album since 1986.
