Paul Kemp (actor)
Peter Paul " Paulie " Kemp ( born May 20, 1896 in Godesberg; † August 13, 1953 in Bonn ) was a German actor and character comedian.
Life
The son of a musician first began to study architecture, but increased - along with Gustav Gründgens - private acting lessons with Louise Dumont in Dusseldorf, where he also made his theater debut. Later he stated, through visits in Cologne Hänneschen theater, a puppet theater, to have been excited for the profession of the actor. Commitment to the Hamburg Chamber games, followed under Erich brick and to Berlin. There he found the way to the 1930 film in which he became a much sought after character comedian. He played in Pabst's The Threepenny Opera (1931 ), Fritz Lang's M ( 1931), the opera The Bartered Bride film ( directed by Max Ophüls ) and the title role in Charley's Aunt (1934 ).
