Paul Lindblad

Paul Aaron Lindblad ( born August 9, 1941 in Chanute, Kansas; † January 1, 2006 in Arlington, Texas) was an American baseball player.

Lindblad was a solid pitcher in the American League, the most as Einwechselwerfer was used and his teams won the World Series three times. In 1962 he was hired by the Kansas City Athletics in 1965 and made his debut in the major leagues.

Outstanding performances were a series of 385 games without an error by the defending team from 1966 to 1974 and the victory in Game 3 of the 1973 World Series against the New York Mets. In this game, he was also the last pitcher who ever in Major League against the Baseball Hall of Famer Willie Mays threw.

On 1 January 2006 Paul Lindblad died from Alzheimer 's disease.
