Paul Linz

Paul Linz ( born January 4, 1956 in Trier ) is a German football coach and former football player.

Player

The football games learned the striker in his hometown at VfL Trier and Eintracht Trier. As an active professional athlete Paul Linz played 33 Bundesliga games for Werder Bremen ( 1978-1980 ) and the SV Waldhof Mannheim ( 1983/1984 ). His scoring prowess he exhibited mainly in the 2nd Bundesliga demonstrated in 233 games the attacker scored a total of 115 goals for the Freiburger FC, OSC Bremerhaven and VfL Osnabrück. Among his greatest successes as a player belonged to the promotion to the Bundesliga with SV Waldhof (1982 /83) and the rise in the 2nd Bundesliga with VfL Osnabrück (1984 /85).

Coach

Since 1994 he works as a club coach.

As a player, coach Paul Linz with the FSV Salmrohr in 1990 won the German Amateur Championship and in 1992 was master of the Oberliga West.

His greatest success as a club coach he celebrated 2001/ 02 with the rise of SV Eintracht Trier 05 in the 2nd Bundesliga. After the second division relegation of the club in the Regionalliga 2004/ 05 Paul Linz announced his retirement from coaching positions. Not least because it came right after the end of the last season game and the same so significant descent into a scuffle between him and a trailer of harmony and Linz in the highest emotional turmoil lost his composure.

As of October 26, 2005 Linz officiated as coach of the second division LR Ahlen. On 3 May 2006 Paul Linz in his coaching career rose with the LR Ahlen for the second time from the 2nd Bundesliga from. Curiously, that of all the LR Ahlen a year earlier prevented the relegation of his former club Eintracht Trier. The LR Ahlen won then 4:3 at TSV 1860 Munich, Trier during a 1-1 draw was not enough at the 1 FC Saarbrücken. The Eintracht was relegated because of the poorer a goal on goal difference over Energie Cottbus.

In December 2007, Paul Linz signed for first division side FC Magdeburg. Magdeburg had spent a season goal of qualifying for the newly introduced third league, but the winter break six points behind 10th place necessary. Then his predecessor Dirk Heyne was dismissed. The goal for the season was still not reached. End of March 2009 Linz Paul was released from his duties in Magdeburg since the desired goal for the season, the climb was moved to the 3rd league, into the distance. He was succeeded by Steffen Baumgart.

On January 8, 2011 Linz was introduced as the new coach of the Saarland Club Borussia Neunkirchen. He was released in December 2011 from his duties.
