Paul Milliet

Paul Milliet (* 1855, † 1924) was a French librettist.

Milliet was known primarily for his libretti for Jules Massenet. For him, he wrote "Werther" by Goethe's "The Sorrows of Young Werther " and - together with Henri Gremont - the Hérodiade after Gustave Flaubert's Trois contes Hérodias from his.

For the Paris- Hungarian composer Sándor Bertha he wrote the libretto for the opera Matthias Corvin, three of his libretti were set to music by the Greek composer Spyros Samaras. He also translated the libretto for the French version of Manuel de Falla's opera La vida breve.

Milliet was married to the originating from the U.S. singer Ada Adini.
