Paul Sandby

Paul Sandby RA ( * 1725 in Nottingham, † November 9, 1809 in London ) was an English landscape painter and cartographer, who was, together with his brother Thomas Sandby of the founders of the Royal Academy of Arts.

He painted preferably with water colors.

In 1762 he was appointed to the main character Master of the Royal Military Academy, a position he held until 1799.
