Paul Simonon

Paul Gustave Simonon (* December 15, 1955 in Brixton, London ) is a British musician. He was co-founder and bassist and singer of British punk band The Clash.

In The Clash wrote and sang three songs himself: Guns of Brixton, Crooked Beat and Red Angel Dragnet. Simonon initially played a Rickenbacker, later a Fender Precision Bass. Such he smashed on the cover of the famous Clash - London Calling LP.

Paul Simonons musical activities were limited to The Clash to a single band, Havana 3AM, which are named after a jazz titles. These published in 1991 an LP with the band name as the title. Simonon designed the cover of the album. The recording was only a moderate success. In the United States it reached about only accommodate 169 of the charts.

Paul Simonon is now living as a painter in London. On 26 October 2006 his latest project in collaboration with Damon Albarn ( Gorillaz, Blur ) was presented at the first BBC Electric Proms. The band The Good, the Bad and the Queen, published in late January 2007, the self-titled album " The Good, the Bad & the Queen", the first single " Herculean " was released in the UK on 30 October 2006.
