Paul Stookey

Noel "Paul" Stookey ( born December 30, 1937 in Baltimore) is an American singer, known as " Paul " of the folk group Peter, Paul and Mary. The other two members of the trio were Peter Yarrow and until her death in 2009 Mary Travers.

After the (provisional ) dissolution of the group in 1970 he was active as a solo musician. The best known is The Wedding Song ( There is Love ), which he wrote for the wedding of Peter Yarrow. The lyrics of his songs are mostly of Christian and social issues.

Stookey is married and lives with his wife Betty in Maine.
