Paul Suter

Paul Suter (born 9 March 1892 in Graenichen, † April 6, 1966 in Paris) was a Swiss racing driver.

Paul Suter was one of six brothers ( Max, Franz, Fritz, Gottfried and Heiri ), who were all racing cyclist. He won in 1910 ( as an amateur ), the first Championship of Zurich ( Zuri- pig roast ), the then most important Swiss one-day races. He was professional from 1911 to 1930 1911., He won around Saxony. In the same year he won together with his brother Francis, the Six Days of Hamburg; that they were the first Swiss, which scored a victory in a six-day race.

After the First World War, Paul Suter turned to the upright sport. Seven times he was Swiss champion in this discipline. In 1923 he was World Champion in front of his home crowd in Zurich.

1914 his brother Franz was recorded while walking on a railway crossing by a train and died at the age of 24 years before the eyes of Paul Suter.
