Paul Traynor

Paul Traynor ( born September 14, 1977 in Thunder Bay, Ontario ) is a Canadian professional ice hockey player who played for the Nuremberg Ice Tigers of the Deutsche Eishockey Liga.

Career

Paul Traynor began his career in 1994 at the Kitchener Rangers in the Canadian Junior Football League OHL. After his first season back in the NHL Entry Draft in 1995 in the seventh round was drawn at 162 instead of the Winnipeg Jets, but were no inserts in the National Hockey League.

For the 1997/98 season Traynor signed his first professional contract and played until 2004 in North America. His stations were the AHL Albany River Rats teams, Rochester Americans and Syracuse Crunch, the IHL participants Michigan K- Wings and Utah Grizzlies and the Raleigh IceCaps, South Carolina Stingrays, Charlotte Checkers and Trenton Titans of the East Coast Hockey League. There Traynor earned a reputation as a robust and fair Stay-at -home defender.

For 2004/ 05 the defender joined the Kölner Haie in the German Hockey League, where he again took on the role of defensive defense. After two years in the cathedral city of Canadians signed a contract for the 2006/07 season with the Iserlohn Roosters, where he received the nickname " hooligan " because of its physically hard play. In Iserlohn Traynors play was noticeably more aggressive, so that he could more than double his points haul at the end. Beginning of 2007, extended his contract prematurely the crowd favorite for another two years.
