Paul Weatherwax

Paul Weatherwax ( born July 8, 1900 in Sturgis, Michigan, † September 13, 1960 in West Hollywood, California ) was an American editor who won an Academy Award for Best Editing twice.

Life

Weatherwax began his career as an editor in the film industry in Hollywood in 1928 with the film Flying Romeos and worked until his death in the production of almost 100 films.

At the Academy Awards in 1949 he won his first Oscar for Best Editing, and indeed for the city without a mask (1948 ) by Jules Dassin with Barry Fitzgerald, Don Taylor and Howard Duff in the lead roles.

Another Oscar in this category, he received in 1957, along with Gene Ruggiero for the epic film based on the novel Around the World in 80 Days created by Jules Verne In 80 Days around the World (1956 ) the directors Michael Anderson and John Farrow with David Niven, Cantinflas and Shirley MacLaine.
