Paul Williams (Songwriter)

Paul Hamilton Williams, Jr. ( born September 19, 1940 in Omaha, Nebraska, USA) is an American composer, musician, singer, songwriter and actor. He is best known from the 1970s, in which he wrote timeless songs, for example, Three Dog Night An Old Fashioned Love Song for Helen Reddy You and Me Against the World, David Bowie Fill Your Heart or for Carpenters We've Only Just Begun and Rainy Days and Mondays.

Life

Paul Williams has in his career, Academy Award (Oscar), a Golden Globe and won the Grammy ( again 1980) 1977. He was inducted into the American Songwriter's Hall of Fame in 2001 and serves since 2009 as president of the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers ( ASCAP ).

Best known are Paul Williams' compositions from the films The devil takes the hindmost ( Where Do I Go From Here ), A Star Is Born ( Evergreen - Love Song from A Star Is Born), The Muppet Movie ( The Rainbow Connection) and The Secret of NIMH ( Flying Dreams ). In addition to movie appearances in The Muppet Movie and as Little Enos Burt Reynolds A blockbuster Smokey and the Bandit Williams was in several television series such as Hawaii Five- O, The Love Boat and Star Trek: Voyager as a guest star. He has worked on the currently released album Random Access Memories by Daft Punk titled Touch.

Since February 14, 2005 Paul Williams is married to Mariana, before that he was already with Kate ( * 1971, with her he has two children ) and Hilda ( 1993) romantically involved, by this marriage, he was the son of Keenan Wynn. His son Cole ( born 1981 ) is also an actor. His brother, Mentor Williams, Paul 's like working as a songwriter.
