Paulding County (Georgia)

The Paulding County is a county located in the state of Georgia in the United States. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is Dallas.

Geography

The County is located in northwest Georgia, is in the west about 40 miles from Alabama and has an area of 816 square kilometers, of which four square kilometers of water surface, and borders clockwise to the following counties: Cobb County, Douglas County, Carroll County, Haralson County, Polk County and Bartow County.

History

Paulding County was formed as the 87th county in Georgia from parts of Cherokee County on December 3, 1832. It was named after John Paulding, a deserving soldier in the Revolutionary War.

According to the census in 2000 lived in Paulding County 81 678 people in 28 089 households and 22 892 families. The population density was 101 people per square kilometer.
