Paulina Olowska

Paulina Olowska (* 1976 in Gdansk, Poland) is a Polish painter and versatile artist. She receives 2014 Art Prize of Aachen.

Life

After her schooling Olowska studied at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, and at the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdansk. Paulina Olowska lives and works in Mszana Dolna, Poland. As part of group exhibitions were their works at the Museum of Modern Art in Warsaw, Goetz, Munich collection, shown in the Carnegie Museum of Art, Pittsburgh, and the Museum Folkwang, Essen. Since 2009, her work can also be seen in solo exhibitions of renowned art galleries.

Work

At Paulina Olowska works include paintings, drawings, collages, performances, installations and videos. In her works she refers to the art and design history as well as architecture, interior design, traditional Polish crafts, puppetry, functional scenes, fashion and advertising. She created portraits of important women in art and literature such as Virginia Woolf, Vanessa Bell, Charlotte Perriand, Nina Hamnett and Peggy Moffitt.
