Paulina from the heart of Jesus in agony (Portuguese: Paulina do Coração Agonizante de Jesus, commonly called Amabile Lucia Visintainer or Santa Paulina ) ( born December 16, 1865 in Vigolo Vattaro, Trento, Italy today; † 9 July 1942 Ipiranga, São Paulo, Brazil), real name Amabile Lucia one bison (now written Visintainer ), was an Italian- Brazilian religious founder and saint.

Life

Amabile bison One whose poor family emigrated in 1875 from Trentino to Brazil, took care early to patients and taught children the catechism. 1890 she founded the Congregation of the Little Sisters of the Immaculate Conception ( Portuguese: Irmãzinhas because Imaculada Conceição ) and took the religious name Paulina from the heart of Jesus in agony. It was in 1903 appointed the first Superior General, but lost the office because of internal difficulties. In her last years, serious health problems were due to her years of diabetes, so that her right arm had to be amputated.

Paulina was beatified and canonized by Pope John Paul II on 18 October 1991 on 19 May 2002. She was the first Brazilian woman who was canonized. Your Memorial Day in the liturgy is July 9.
