Paulist Fathers

The Paulist priest or mission of St.. Paul (English " Paulist Fathers ," " Missonary Society of St. Paul the Apostle ", Latin for " Societas sacerdotum Missionarum a Sancto Paulo ', Religious symbol: CSP, for Congregation Sancti Pauli ) are a Catholic order, which in 1858 founded in New York by Isaac Thomas Hecker. They live and teach within the meaning of the Pauline theology.

The original goal of the order was the spread of the Catholic faith in the United States. In addition, soon joined other goals, such as working in education ( especially in universities ), as well as on religious and Christian interdenominational cooperation. In the Order is a congregation of priests without vows. The small order is now represented in the United States and Canada. In addition, there are offices in Rome and Jerusalem.
