In the female, these features are much less pronounced. The call of the bird is a " pure - like".

Occurrence

The distribution area of Pauraque ranges from southern Texas and Mexico south to Bolivia and northern Argentina. He lives on the edges of forests, secondary forests and bushes and loose nests in more open terrain.

Behavior

During the day resting on the ground or in the Pauraque nightjar manner camouflaged along on a low branch sitting. At night it hunts in deep patrol or by a Ansitzt off after beetles, moths and fireflies. The Pauraque holds on more than other nightjars on the ground; he is disturbed, he sometimes runs more of it than he flies away. He often snaps at night on the road.

Reproduction

In a shallow, natural depression in the ground near low growing plants two eggs are hatched.
