Paus

Paus ( even Pauss and de Paus ) is an entity belonging to ostnorwegischen patrician family whose members mostly live in Norway and in Sweden.

The patrilineal progenitor of the family was Hans Olufsson ( bl. in the 16th century). As a canon at St. Mary's Church in Oslo, that is, the royal priesthood, had Hans according to a 1300 letter issued privileges Haakon V. the rank of knight.

In recent times, significant members are Christopher de Paus (1863-1943), papal chamberlain and ditto Graf, and Ole Paus ( b. 1947 ), musician.
