Pavel Kuka

Pavel Kuka ( born July 19, 1968 in Prague ) is a former Czech football player.

Career

Stations as a club player

The striker began playing football at Slavia Prague, for whom he debuted in the first league of the former Czechoslovakia in 1987. His army service he performed between 1987 and 1989 at RH Cheb, then he was playing for Slavia.

During the winter break of the season 1993/94 he moved for a transfer fee of 1.75 million D- Mark in the German Bundesliga for 1.FC Kaiserslautern and contributed eight goals in the second half for second place in the Palatinate. In 1996 he experienced a conflicting year of disappointments and successes. Together with the first FC Kaiserslautern, he got out of the 1st Bundesliga from, but won a week after the descent of the DFB Cup and was shortly thereafter with the Czech national football team in England Vice European Champion. However, the final was extremely unhappy decided by a golden goal in extra time. Then he experienced in 1996/97 with the Red Devils of Kaiserslautern 's re-emergence in the Bundesliga and then the sensational winning the championship, but to which he contributed only as a substitute.

Therefore, he moved to the 1998/99 season newly promoted 1.FC Nuremberg. Although he was promoted there to support in attack, the club could not avoid the tight descent. Kuka moved to VfB Stuttgart, but in which he could not get a foothold.

After a total of 144 games and 50 goals in the Bundesliga as well as 25 games (14 goals) in the 2nd Bundesliga, he left Germany in September 2000 and returned to Slavia Prague. With this team he won the 2002 Czech Cup, 2005, he ended his active career there.

He plays beside still for the amateur club SK Marila Votice.

National

Pavel Kuka played a total of 87 A- international matches in which he scored 29 goals. Already on 29 August 1990 he made his debut for the Czechoslovakian national soccer team in a friendly against Finland. Until the separation of Czechoslovakia into the Czech Republic and Slovakia, he came up with 24 caps (7 goals). Then he played another 63 times for the Czech national football team, scoring 22 goals. With it, he took part in the 1996 European Championships, in the Czech Republic and vice- European champion at the European Championship 2000. After more than eleven years, he finished with an insert in the World Cup qualifier against Malta on 5 September 2001 his international career.

Director of Sport

2005, Pavel Kuka sports director at the Czech first division side FK Marila Pribram, left the club but at his own request after half a year. Since January 14, 2013 Kuka is sports director at Viktoria Plzen. With Pilsen 2013 he became Czech champion.
